What is Essential to Know about Usernames
Nicknames in World of Warships are subject to the general rules of forming user names for Wargaming.net projects because they are the same for this developer’s games.
By the established procedure, nicknames must not contain:
- abnormal expressions in explicit or abbreviated versions;
- insults, personal attacks, harassment;
- unprintable and unreadable words and abbreviations;
- copyrighted or trademarked elements in clear or abbreviated form;
- insults or disparagement based on any distinguishing characteristic (race, nationality, religion, etc.);
- associations with sexuality, bodily organs, or bodily functions;
- allusions to blood, violence, etc..;
- references to illegal or addictive substances;
- associations with any illicit organizations or violent personalities;
- references to religious topics;
- attacks on the administration;
- any violations of the License Agreement.
Changing Your Name through Your Cabinet
The sequence of actions is as follows:
- Log in to the Wargaming.net portal and navigate to your cabinet.
- Click on the icon in the form of a pencil, located to the right of the current user name.
- Type the desired nickname from the keyboard and select the payment method depending on the game project.
- If the proposed name is free, then after clicking on the “Change” button, the procedure will be completed. Otherwise, you must choose another nickname or change the desired one (add/remove one or more characters).

The operation costs 2500 doubloons, which can be earned in-game or purchased in the premium store.

A nickname change can be considered conditionally free of charge for doubloons earned during the game for achievements and opening various containers.
