T-34 (Prototype)
Legendary tank. Historical. It’s one of the oldest in the game, but still highly relevant.
The T-34 is mobile and has good armor. Thanks to the 76mm APHEBC shells, it also does much damage. In general, the vehicle can be called versatile. You can play both offensively and defensively. You can even use it as a sniper – thanks to its excellent cross-country ability, you can get into even the most unexpected and secluded corners of the map.
CV 90105
The CV 90105 is agile and powerful but also good at other things. For example, its armament has third-generation thermal imaging sights on board, which makes it very easy to find targets in the dark.
But what is sad about the tank is its survivability. The armor is thin. Moreover, detonation occurs more often than we would like due to the specifics of the ammunition’s internal structure.
Panzer IV/70(A)
Panzer IV/70(A) plays exclusively from the defense. It should be used offensively only in the most critical situations.
The Panzer IV/70(A) cannon is impressive and, in principle, one of the most powerful in the game.
However, the armor is frankly weak. The vehicle will easily survive a hit in the upper superstructure: the shell will simply bounce off, but a hit in any other place will be fatal.
Leopard A1A1 (L/44)
The Leopard A1A1 (L/44) is equipped with a powerful 120mm cannon, which has no problem dealing with enemies. However, not everything is smooth: the vehicle’s mobility is good, but its survivability is not so good. Shots to the side projection are usually fatal, and it is rarely possible to survive them.
Leopard A1A1 (L/44) is the “number two” vehicle. It is not bad, but there are better candidates.
Centurion Action X
A gray mouse in War Thunder. But that’s only at first glance.
Centurion Action X attracts with its simplicity—it is almost an ideal tank for beginners. It has decent speed, fights equally well at close, medium, and long ranges, and has good armor (except for the lower half of the turret, which can not be exposed).
ZTZ96A (P)
When you look at the ZTZ96A, you are immediately struck by the optical-electronic suppression complex. You might think its presence is a plus, but you must pay for everything. This case is no exception: the turret suffers greatly from kinetic ammunition. Sometimes, it even explodes from the first hit.
Otherwise, ZTZ96A is a modern tank with powerful guns and good armor penetration. Strong at any distance, suitable for any play style.
Magach 3
A relatively new premium tank was added in 2022. Magach 3 incorporates the best of the previous two tanks of this family and takes it to the next level: it features a powerful 105mm M68 cannon and anti-tank shells capable of destroying T-62 and similar vehicles without any problems.
One of the eye’s disadvantages is the lack of a stabilizer (although an optical rangefinder compensates for this by allowing you to fire at a distance).
Leopard 2A4
The Leopard 2A4 is an absolute powerhouse in the right hands. The local cannon can return the enemy to the hangar with just one accurate hit. At the same time, the tank has excellent turret armor, which only a few tanks in War Thunder can boast of.
A bonus to the above is the camouflage net, which makes you invisible at a distance of 500-800 meters.
However, it has some drawbacks. Leopard 2 has almost no protection in the side projection. You will often be killed by airplanes and vehicles with autocannons.
T-72AV (TURMS-T)
Robust, accurate, and reliable.
The TURMS-T differs from the stock T-72A and T-72B, which feature the Contact-1 mounted dynamic protection.
Otherwise, this is the good old T-72, which has been relevant since its release. And will continue to be appropriate.
M1 KVT
Great tank. Well balanced in terms of damage/survival. Mobile, quick to reload – best suited for flank play.
It’s not as bad as a sniper, either (just remember to silence the engine, as it’s too noisy and quickly gives away position).
Among the disadvantages, the only thing that catches your eye is the weak frontal armor (or rather to say – its almost complete absence) and VISMOD barrels, which limit the view at the rear angle. Otherwise, the M1 KVT is probably the most “broken” tank in the game. It’s just too strong.
By the way, the M1 KVT is also easy to master. One of the easiest in the game, and at the same time the most effective tanks in 2024.
