Marks of Excellence in WoT are the hallmark of players who rank among the best in damage in a single battle.

Such markings allow you to stand out among other users based on objective superiority, indicating the player’s skill and the destructive power of his armored equipment.

What are Marks of Excellence

Marks in WoT are an indicator of the effectiveness of their owner because their accrual is taken into account:

• directly inflicted damage to medium and heavy armored vehicles;
• damage that was inflicted through combat reconnaissance on a light tank;
• maximum stun damage if an SPG is used.

When calculating damage for marking, the maximum value (one of three) of the resulting damage is taken into account:

• hitting the tracks;
• detection of the enemy by reconnaissance;
• stun as a result of shelling.

What do Different Marks of Excellence Mean in World of Tanks

Barrel markings demonstrate over what percentage of WoT users have superiority in damage of this unit its owner:

• One mark – damage is higher than 65% of other players;
• Two marks – the damage exceeds 85% of players;
• Three marks – 95% of users have lower damage per battle.

How to Get Marks of Excellence on Guns

To get Marks of Excellence, you need to get into the damage rating of WoT users, which is constantly updated and contains the average value of the evaluated indicator for the last 14 days.

It should be noted that the average damage is calculated based on the results of the last 100 battles on this tank or SPGs; therefore, if out of 100 battles played 70, the damage for the remaining 30 battles will be charged equal to 0.

When the number of battles for a given unit exceeds 100, the results of the first battles will be replaced, which will change the average damage value.

Since the maximum damage value per shot is used to calculate the damage value, critical hits (e.g., on the caterpillar tracks or at the base of the turret) must be taken.

Which Tanks Are More Accessible or More Challenging to Collect a Marks of Excellence

When selecting a tank to get stickers, the following must be taken into account:

• when calculating the Marks of Excellence, the performance for the last two weeks is compared for all players who fought on this fighting vehicle during this period;
• the better the tank, the more popular it is, and therefore, more often selected by other players;
• fighting on less popular models of self-propelled weapons, there is a higher chance to be among the best in terms of damage;
• skill and accuracy of hits allow you to cause the most damage to your opponents.

That is, to quickly get a set of stickers on the tank barrel, you need to choose a rarely used model, pump it up to increase the damage from a single hit and work out the accuracy of shooting.

How to Get 3 Marks of Excellence in WoT

To get into the top 5% of players will need to use all resources:

• choose a rarely used weapon model and improve it in terms of damage;
• practicing the skill of aiming at caterpillar tracks and other vulnerable points;
• complete at least 100 battles in 14 days, focusing on single damage from accurate hits rather than on the number of damaged and destroyed enemy vehicles;
• continue to use the armored vehicle until it has three marks on the barrel.

When Marks of Excellence are Awarded

Marks of Excellence are awarded when the damage values are within the best rating (35%, 15%, and 5%), updated regularly and only considering the battles’ results over the last 14 days.

Where to See Statistics on Marks of Excellence in WoT

To view statistics, you need to:

1. Go to the “Service records” section.
2. Select the “Vehicles” tab.
3. Click on the status of the armored vehicle “Awards”.
4. The window that opens will show the number of marks on the barrel.

How much do you Need to Play to Get Marks of Excellence

The number of games required to get a status Mark of Excellence on the barrel can be different, depending on many parameters:

• popularity of this armored vehicle among WoT users;
• accuracy of hits and unit damage rate of this tank or SPGs;
• results of other players;
• the share of battles played out of 100 is taken into account in the calculation of the index.

Therefore, it is difficult to determine the upper limit, but to get into the top players, according to statistics, requires 50 to 100 battles and more.

Can you Lose your Marks

Marks are permanent; they can be improved according to the results of battles on a given armored vehicle over the last 14 days but cannot be worsened.

That is, an achievement achieved once remains on the barrel, unless you remove it yourself by unchecking the “Display Distinctive Marks” option in the game settings.
