How to Bind Jump Throw in Counter-Strike 2

New Jump Throw Bind CS2

Jump Throw is a beneficial bind in the Counter-Strike series of games that can be used in official matches. In the last part, it was bound to one button and used. In Counter-Strike 2, the developers simplified grenade throwing, but the habit of using this command among players remained.

How is the Jump Throw Command Useful?

Jumpthrow CS2

In Counter-Strike 2, the player’s movement affects the grenade’s trajectory. To maximize the speed of the grenade, professional players throw it while jumping. Proper execution of this technique, Jump Throw, allows the grenade to fly farther than it can by default.

CS:GO didn’t give the ability to throw a grenade while in motion; the need to stop made people look for ways that would solve this problem. Then, a bind was created that combined Jump Throw and grenade throwing.

How to Bind Jump Throw in CS2

Method No1

bind Jumpthrow in CS2

Use alias, a console command, to execute other commands during a match. Settings via Alias are temporary and do not remain in the game config after quitting. You will need to re-enter them when you restart CS2.

To throw a grenade on the move, take a few actions in the game console (~):

  • alias “+bish” “+jump”
  • alias “+bash” “-attack; -attack2”
  • alias “+bosh” “-jump”

The final step is to create a bind for spreading. For example, you can assign the “X” key (You can use a key you are comfortable with.) To do this, enter the command:

  • bind “x” “+bish; +bash; +bosh”

To throw a grenade on the move, hold down the attack button and press the “X” key. As a result, your character will make a jump and throw the grenade. You will hear a characteristic sound indicating that all the actions were done correctly.

There is one problem here – all these operations must be repeated each time you start the game.

Method No2 – Config

Jumpthrow how to bind

To avoid rewriting commands every time you start Counter-Strike 2, use configurations. This approach is much better than the first option because all the necessary commands will already be pre-installed. Before you start, you need to perform the following actions in the game files:

  1. First, you need to create a new file in the config’s folder located at the following path: …/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike 2/game/cs2/cfg. Inside this folder, create a config with the following parameters: +jump -attack -attack2 -jump. Each command is written on a new line;
  2. Close the file and save it; give it any convenient name, for example: Jumpthrow.cfg;
  3. Start the game and turn on the console;
  4. Enter the command: Bind “x” “exec throw”, where X is any convenient button.

To use this command, hold down the left mouse button and press the key you have binded to execute a jumpthrow throw. The advantage of this method is that you only have to set it up once, and it will work all the time.
