J35XS
The J35XS is an outstanding interceptor fighter. It has an IRST system, a rarity by jet aircraft standards. The system can detect infrared signals from the rear and front sides, making navigation and target acquisition much more accessible.
The craft has a decent fuel reserve. There are two types of air-to-ground missiles, the M/56D and the M/57B. Both are playable, but M/56D is much better.
The disadvantages are the unfortunate location of the cannons (makes aiming difficult) and the lack of RWR.
A-10A Thunderbolt II
The A-10A is an aircraft that is highly effective in low-altitude combat. It remains maneuverable even under heavy loads, has an exceptional roll rate, a powerful cannon by GAU-8 class standards, and access to several missiles and four GBU-8 bombs.
However, the ship’s top speed leaves much to be desired. It often becomes an easy target for nimble opponents. Despite the power of the bombs, they are the main problem of the ship. They slow it down a lot.
F-4S Phantom II
Slightly modernized F-4J. It is distinguished by the presence of leading-edge slats, which significantly increase maneuverability at low speeds.
However, that’s not what’s so impressive about the F-4J.
It’s the armament.
There is the AIM-9H, which has a decent range; the AIM-7F, which can hit targets at a distance; and the best missiles in the SARH class, which have a factor of 11.3.
However, the F-4S Phantom II has no internal gun, and the external gun pod negatively affects flight performance. Finally, in theory, the lack of guided munitions limits the potential in low-altitude combat, but one can get used to it in practice.
MiG-23ML
It is a versatile and robust airplane—a true classic. It can carry six short—and medium-range air-to-air missiles. The R-23T/R-24 T has an advanced IRST system, which, together with the R-23T/R-24T, can make a mess and destroy unsuspecting opponents at the beginning of a match.
The MiG has few disadvantages except for the limited ammunition of internal cannons. Also, the large engine sometimes becomes the cause of instant deaths – it is not so difficult to hit it, but to survive such a hit – even more so.
F-5C
The F-5C can support and attack, the former at medium range and the latter in close combat.
The ship’s small size helps it maneuver on the battlefield and effectively dodge enemy attacks. Moreover, the F-5C has additional means of countering them. For example, it can quickly reduce speed on turns, coming behind its opponents and striking back.
However, the ship has some drawbacks. These include weak air-to-air missiles, AIM-9Es, and a complete lack of radar. Also, weak engines cannot accelerate to a level where they can outrun other attack aircraft.
