Next: how to watch recordings, switch modes, and where to find deleted files.
How to View Battle Replay in War Thunder

Revisiting matches helps:
- Analyze mistakes;
- Enhance skills;
- Prove the cheater’s guilt.
Useful tool.
Matches can be saved automatically. Open “Settings,” “Main Settings,” “Replays and Spectator mode.” Enable the auto-save function. Done, fights are saved on your hard disk. The function is enabled by default, but beginners are disabled and forget about it.
A “Community” button is in the upper left corner of the screen. Pressing the button will open a tab with combat statistics. This is also where the view is launched – select one of the recent battles and click the “View replay” button.
The limit of stored files is 100. Old battles are automatically overwritten. New patches break recordings, it’s better to save necessary moments on video.
How to Access Old Replays Not Listed in the Game
The developers’ official website stores match recordings. Find the menu from the screenshot, download the file, and play it.
Where War Thunder Replays are Saved in 2026
The data is stored in the:\War Thunder\Replays folder.
Full copies are hosted on Gaijin servers. Due to the 100 file limit, it is best to make backups.
Keys to Control Replay
After playback, a panel with nicknames and numbers at the top will appear. Find your nickname, click on it, and press number 1. This will turn the player’s equipment tracking mode on. Digit 2 will switch the camera to the scope tracking mode. The rest of the buttons are responsible for additional camera modes.
It is not always possible to follow the actions of another player, because the recording is done from the client. The official website of the game will help with this again. The actions of all players are saved there.
How to Rewind in War Thunder
Rewind is not like a YouTube player. The file stores the sequence of server events and player commands. The weight is small, but rewind is possible only between virtual points. To create these points, you must enable the option in the game settings in advance; otherwise, the recording can only be slowed down, sped up, or restarted. The function works for client replays; in the server version, there is only acceleration and restart.
Client recording does not store the full list of events, so bloggers are better off using screen recording and saving the necessary moments on video.
