In World of Warships, ships fire a main gun and secondary guns. The first one damages the enemy most, but the player controls the shots. A Secondary Gun is an additional weapon mounted on the deck. It fires only in automatic mode at nearby targets.
Don't forget to redeem World of Warships codes to get bonuses in the game. They come in two types: invite codes for new players and bonus codes for veterans. If you have any difficulties, use the instructions about registration with bonuses in World of Warships.
But if you’re in the mood for something different, we also have World of Tanks codes.
What Are Secondary Guns in WoWs and How to Improve it
Secondary guns are installed on aircraft carriers, cruisers, and battleships. The number of firearms that can be installed depends on the ship model. The killing power of secondary guns is comparable to that of primary weapons used on destroyers. However, the range of fire is much less; it depends on the ship’s rank (3.2 km on ships of 2nd rank, 8.3 km on super-ships).
Secondary Armament is upgraded through increasing the skills of the ship’s commander. Some ships still support the installation of Secondary gun modifications:
- Secondary Battery Modification 1;
- Auxiliary Armaments Modification 2.
Some ships of 10th rank still support the installation of special modifications for Secondary Armament.
There are many Secondaries and Turret models in the game, but for players’ convenience, their characteristics are the same. The only difference is the range of fire, which depends on the ship’s rank and the level of upgrades.
The attack on the target is automatic. But if you press the Ctrl button, the player can switch between the targets that are in the range of the Secondary Guns.
Three ships with the best Secondary Guns in World of Warships in 2025
Bismarck
Battleship of the 8th rank. Secondaries—380 mm/52 SK C/34 cannon, range—6.6 km. Depending on the level of upgrades, 6 or 8 cannons are installed on the sides of the ship’s bow. The ship is used both for attacking nearby enemies and as air defense.
Brandenburg
German battleship of the 8th rank. Up to 10 turrets (305mm 3X4 rifles) can be installed. The ship is dangerous because it has a vast arsenal of weapons around the deck. It is maneuverable, can quickly stand sideways to the enemy, and attack simultaneously with primary and additional guns. On the downside, the armor is weaker than other ships of the same rank.
Jean Bart
French battleship of the 9th rank. Secondaries – 100mm/55 Mle 1945 twin guns on CAD Mle 1945 mount. Up to 12 guns can be mounted. The firing range is 7.95 kilometers. You can use high-explosive shells with a 5% chance of burning the enemy. Secondary Armament automatically attacks air targets as well. On the downside, it is vulnerable to flanking and flanking attacks, as most secondary guns are in the front, and the stern is protected only by 32 mm armor.
Secondary guns protects the ship from mines, from shells, can be used as air defense, automatically attacks the nearest enemies. When choosing a ship, you should definitely pay attention to the number of turrets that can be installed. But do not forget about the weaknesses of the ship you are buying.
