Germany is not the strongest nation in War Thunder at first glance. It may seem that local airplanes are inferior to other countries’ machines. However, a detailed study reveals that everything is not so simple.

Tier I – He 112
This airplane is not for beginners – its cannon is stiff to aim and has a slow rate of fire. It takes some getting used to, but it’s worth it.
Useful against bombers and lightly armored ground targets.
The HE 112’s main features are speed and rate of climb. It is still slower than the F2A and P-36G, but it is not inferior to other fast monoplanes of the first type.
Tier II – Bf 110 C-7
The Bf 110 C-7 is vital in many ways, but not in turns. It is a heavy fighter with a disgustingly low roll rate.
But.
It’s still a fantastic all-rounder, capable of carrying a whole host of bombs for both ground and air combat. The main feature of the Bf 110 C-7 is that it can hit two (or even more!) targets in succession. It would be best if you thanked the fuselage for this, the bombs from which fall right after each other.
When playing with this airplane you should avoid Yak-2 KABB and ZSD63. Other ships are not opponents.
Tier III – Fw 190 D-9
Maintaining a high altitude is the key to victory with the Fw 190 D-9. Its high-speed climbing capability allows you to do this.
The Fw 190 D-9 is weak against fighters. They can quickly destroy it.
The most muscular machine plays the role of tank destroyer and support.
Excellent top speed, good rate of climb, good armament in the form of bombs of different caliber. Definitely one of the best airplanes in this shooting gallery!
Tier IV – He 177 A-5
Outstanding heavy bomber. Fast, controllable, and with a considerable payload—capable of carrying up to six 500 kg bombs each—destroying enemy airfields and bases has never been easier.
The defensive armament of the device is also at the height. Well, by German standards. It consists of 13-mm MG 131 machine guns with a reasonable rate of fire.
The He 177 A-5 is vulnerable to frontal and side collisions. After all, the glazing of the nose and the lack of armor on the fuel tanks have a substantial effect.
Tier V – Ho 229 V3
The Ho 229 V3 is a heavy fighter that attacks aircraft simultaneously. It is surprisingly maneuverable (due to its single-wing design) – don’t let the weight of 8 tons with maximum fuel load bother you. The Ho 229 V3 does suffer from this, though. It has terrible acceleration, especially by jet airplane standards.
But it still maintains speed and gains altitude very well.
Tier VI – F-84F
Not a bad fighter for a support role.
Unfortunately, it is only outstanding in this role. Breaking into a crowd of enemies and initiating combat with the F-84F is contraindicated, except in rare cases when the enemy has broken away from his co-parties and can be quickly destroyed by dive-bombing.
Tier VII – MiG-23MLA
The airplane with the most play styles in this dash. Undeniable.
You can climb from 5km to 7km in altitude and find lone enemies without giving them a chance. You can stay close to the ground, moving at low speeds – you will always be ready for ambushes and sharp turns of other planes.
As for the performance of the MiG-23MLA itself, it is highly mobile. It offers a wide range of air-to-air weapons with outstanding speed. But the radar range is meager – 30 km. Here, it loses to “NATO” vehicles of the same category.
Tier VIII – MiG-29G
Effective. Powerful. Modern.
MiG-29G is a carrier of R-73E and R-27ET missiles, which makes it different from other MIGs in War Thunder.
The airplane is versatile – you can play any role.
Almost.
The variant is still not the most outstanding for battles against ground targets. It does not have guided munitions on board.
