Tasks and Missions
The plot events of the special operation unfold on the territory of North America. Private army Warface declared a real war: Blackwood groups attacked allied forces on all fronts, including using the sea. Enemies want to destroy the main base of Warface troops; players must provide protection and prevent the beginning of a new world war.
The whole operation is divided into four acts:
- Make your way through the forest to the Blackwood missile bunker.
- Get to the first missile silo and disable the launch of missiles at Warface positions. After crossing the mountainous terrain, get into the second missile silo and launch rockets at the Blackwood ships.
- Give battle to the enemy forces at the bunker’s exit and sneak to the Warface base.
- The final act against the boss, in honor of which the special operation was named – a substantial military cruiser with artillery cannons and more.
General Tips for Passing the Special Operation
To successfully pass “Icebreaker” at any difficulty level, you need not only to perform the right tactical actions during the execution of tasks but also competently prepare before the battle. The following recommendations from experienced players will help:
- any cooperative missions, Warface is best to pass played team with good coordination for quick distribution of positions and transfer of useful information;
- the most optimal formation of classes in the team: two stormtroopers, a medic, an engineer, and a sniper;
- use the best sets of armor from your arsenal, and the goal is maximum protection and health points;
- to use the grenade launcher targeting system, hold down the aiming key after firing and aim it at the target;
- gas grenades can be used to turn off turrets temporarily: while they are in smoke, they cannot see enemies and are inactive;
- suitable weapons are the most extensive in terms of ammunition (both in the magazine and with you);
- It is not necessary to act quickly, so it is recommended that you perform each step of the passage as carefully as possible.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough of Special Operation “Icebreaker”
Below is a detailed passage of the special operation with valuable tips at each stage. Following them, you can quickly complete the mission and get the “Pro” awards. But this will require a cohesive team whose fighters rarely make serious mistakes.
Phase I: Mountainous Terrain and Mined Forest

As in most other special operations, the initial stage is more of an introductory one and does not pose much danger. First, you must go down the mountain slope, eliminate several enemies, and equip rocket-propelled grenade launchers with the guidance system. Here, the developers give practice on helicopters that do not return fire. You need to shoot down six of them to continue the passage.
Next in line is another uncomplicated stage that requires you to pass through a minefield. Here, you do not need to hurry. On the contrary, you must carefully follow the route, listening to all the sounds, because the mines will make them when approaching. Trying to bypass them is also not a good idea because, in this case, you can run into another more camouflaged shell. The best tactic in this forest:
- Identify the location where the mine is planted.
- Move back to a safe distance.
- Detonate the mine with an aimed shot.
- Walk along the cleared section of the path.
At the following location, after the mines, the team waits for several waves of enemies that appear to be dangerous turrets. On the approach, there are three shelters. It is best to spread evenly over them to cover them and not interfere with each other effectively.
The complexity of the stage will begin with the appearance of flying turrets. The main advice is to throw all your efforts into destroying the balloons with turrets before they land, as this will significantly complicate the mission, and if it falls on the player, he will instantly die.
When the waves of enemies are over, the team will move on to the entrance to the bunker, which will be involved in the second act. But first, it is necessary to eliminate the first boss, a small ship.
Stage II: Missile Complex in the Mountains

Ahead is a difficult journey through a missile silo full of enemies, mines, and turrets. Players are not limited by time, so the tactics of the mined forest are retained: careful inspection and careful advancement without haste.
It is recommended to hold the grenade for a while to quickly eliminate the turrets so they explode immediately when you approach them.
Ideally, it is better to leave a couple of comrades on the upper level of the mine to provide cover. However, they will still have to catch up with the others after activating the computer to move on to the following stage location. You can hide from the last turrets by the truck. Once they lose sight of you, they will stop firing and give you time to prepare.
Leaving the last tunnel, players return to the mountainous area within the explored missile complex. On it, they must pass missiles already used for Warface purposes to the next mine.
The main recommendations for passing this stage:
- Do not go down hills, shoot enemies from above;
- Take your time and use cover;
- Soon, the first helicopter will be encountered, to eliminate which you need to spread out:
- two players take grenade launchers and shoot continuously at the mini-boss;
- the other players protect them from waves of regular enemies;
- After the first helicopter, a small section with mines will start, and the tactics on them remain the same;
- Another helicopter awaits the team at the next checkpoint, but it is easier to get rid of it due to the ammunition building as cover.
In front of the following missile silo, there is another mini-boss, “Mammoth.” Eliminating him is easy due to the low level of AI. It is enough to split up and attack it from two sides, as the turret does not turn around to attack other targets. So, even if it manages to put someone down, people will be left to help and continue.
The next bunker differs from the previous one only in the types of enemies. You must get through all the waves, survive, activate the computer, and leave the complex.
Stage III: Warface Base Battle

When leaving the missile complex, players will be attacked by new Blackwood forces. The capsule turrets, already familiar from the first act, are especially difficult, but now there are more. It is unlikely that you will be able to destroy all of them before landing, but the more you can shoot them down, the higher the probability of success.
Define shelters in advance if you must defend yourself from deployed equipment. You can ignore the usual enemies until all turrets are destroyed or assign one ally to fight them.
After turrets, difficult opponents will appear with shields. If you can’t neutralize them immediately, retreat to cover and stand with your back to them to avoid knockdown.
The next wave is another intermediate boss, now in the form of a rocket ship. But in general, he is not very difficult. The main thing is to use the shelters, not hurry, and not get distracted.
Then, you need to go down the mountain slope again, meeting the resistance of Blackwood snipers. You must be sure to kill them all because when moving further, they will not disappear and will interfere with passing through the minefield, shooting in the back.
The main difficulty of this location is snipers with green laser pointers. If opponents with a red laser just do high damage, then these immediately knock down. It is not possible to pick up such an ally until the sniper is destroyed, because he will surely knock out the medic as well.
Ahead of the burning Warface base and the final act.
Stage IV: Icebreaker Directly

At the end of the operation, the most difficult but no less epic battle with the full flagship of the Blackwood fleet, the Icebreaker Directly. The Warface boat will take the team to a small island for the final battle. It is recommended to follow the following tactics:
- sniper deals only with regular infantry on the cruiser, especially grenade launchers;
- the medic is very important in the last stage, so he should not stick to cover and not participate in open combat;
- the rest of the players equip themselves with rocket launchers and shoot at the rocket launchers on the ship itself;
- constantly watch the ice under your feet: the red light of the Icebreaker’s artillery will appear on it, and you must escape from the circle before the shell arrives;
- use fast running only to dodge enemy shells because you may not have the stamina at the right moment, and there are a lot of such moments at this stage;
- the following stages of the boss fight are not different from the whole special operation: use cover, enemies’ weaknesses, dodge shells, kill grenade launchers, and capsule turrets in time.
