Which Branch of Czech Tanks to Choose in 2024
In general, all Czech tanks in World of Tanks are divided into three lines:
- Light. They may be slower than their counterparts but offer more reliable armor and increased firepower.
- Medium. Balance between durability and maneuverability. The game features prototypes of the Czech MTs, such as the Skoda T40. However, there is no real counterpart; it was presented only in the framework of weapon exhibitions after the war.
- Heavy. Emphasis in them is placed on durability. The most popular of these lines is the Vz.
Relying on the opinion of most players, the best among Czech is heavy equipment. In particular, the most recently presented models VZ 55. Their advantage over most opponents from other factions is their reinforced armor and high hit points.
Light Tank Line
Czech light tanks are not particularly popular due to their low maneuverability. And their durability level is not enough to compete with MTs from enemy factions. But for training, for the game for beginners – it is an ideal option because the arsenal of weapons in Czech transporters is one of the largest.
Kolohousenka
The most straightforward armored vehicle on a wheeled caterpillar chassis. It was never adopted in actual combat due to outdated production technology. Armor is weak, and the wheelbase does not give an advantage in maneuvering speed on the field. The model is provided to the player by default when beginning the Czech Republic tech tree. There is no requirement to purchase it.
Benefits:
- free;
- faster than other Czech LTs;
- small size, so it is harder to hit on the battlefield.
Cons:
- low resistance to shaped charges;
- low health points;
- few slots for installing weapons.
Only for training battles. It cannot withstand heavy competitions, because it is not able to compete with opponents from other factions.
LT vz. 35
One of the most famous Czech light armored vehicles, it was used in real battles to support cavalry and infantry. It was maneuverable, fast-aiming, and reloading while maintaining accuracy. However, its armor protection was weak, so it should be upgraded first when upgrading.
Advantages:
- prompt aiming for a new shot;
- ammunition capacity.
Disadvantages:
- slow to accelerate to maximum speed;
- the vehicle is tall, so it’s easy for the enemy to aim at it;
- low durability.
Recommended as a replacement for the basic Kolohousenka.
LT vz. 38
She is deservedly considered the best Czech LT. It is a modernized version of the LT vz. 35. The main modifications are normalized dimensions, an automatic gun can be installed, and smoother suspension. These innovations increased maneuverability, although the maximum movement speed remained the same.
Advantages:
- good durability for its class;
- large ammunition reserve;
- powerful turret skin (50 mm) can be installed when upgrading.
Disadvantages:
- slight allowable deflection of the top gun (5 degrees vertically);
- low crew capacity: the captain acts as a gunner of the automatic cannon.
The best choice among light models.
Medium Tank Line
The Czech Republic has the most to choose from. Variants focus on maneuverability, and variants focus on overall combat power. Durability compared to enemy faction vehicles is higher, but the standard guns are poorly protected. Focusing on them is necessary when improving them.
ST vz. 39
The first light infantry armored vehicle from the Czechs. Compatible with a choice of 3 Praga engines. The turret is mounted high, but underneath it is an automatic gun with a separate place for the gunner—a flaw in the rear of the chassis, with poor cover for the tracks.
Advantages:
- affordable price to purchase;
- easy upgrade;
- mobility.
Disadvantages:
- poor track protection;
- the main gun is only 47 mm.
The maneuverability of the armored vehicle even surpasses the rest of the light vehicles presented in the game.
Skoda T 24
It is an analog of the Soviet T24, but with improved skin, achieved using armor plates placed at an angle. It is very maneuverable, but protection is below average. Accuracy is low, but the main gun is 75 mm, and one accurate hit is enough to disable the enemy.
Advantages:
- maneuverability;
- armor protects well against armor-piercing shells.
Minuses:
- accuracy of aiming;
- few slots for installing additional small arms.
For a beginner it will seem difficult. Those who prefer dynamic movement on the front lines will be delighted.
Skoda T 25
A modification of the T24 model. The main difference is a different hull structure with a high turret. The front armor is angled to provide better protection from armor-piercing and high-explosive shells.
Pros:
- fast reloading automatic, which allows you to shoot almost non-stop;
- fast acceleration to top speed.
Flaws:
- low gun rotation speed;
- weak standard armor poorly protects the crew from being hit.
The tank is suitable for fans of dynamic movement on the battlefield. Shots at long distances with a probability of 70% will pass by.
Konstrukta T-34/100
The tank’s unique feature is that it uses a 100 mm cannon with an extended barrel. Accuracy is high, hitting power is enormous, and the rate of fire is low. When upgrading, you can install a body with improved hardening, which increases the health reserve.
Advantages:
- powerful weapon;
- can use shaped charge shells: they have the highest killing power.
Disadvantages:
- low ammunition;
- rear armor is minimal, so the crew and ammunition are vulnerable to conventional armor-piercing shells.
The unit can be categorized as a “sniper” class. It is a good choice for players who prefer targeted shooting from the ground.
TVP VTU Koncept
This is a medium-class technique but with heavy-duty weaponry. The main gun is 105 mm, and the barrel is shortened. It fires slowly, but a direct hit can disable the most armored opponents. It possesses a vast amount of health. However, the location of the guns is unfortunate; they are easily damaged in battle.
Strengths:
- powerful weapons;
- huge health points.
Weaknesses:
- unfortunate module layout;
- mediocre crew protection, a single hit by a shaped charge shell is enough to turn off the vehicle.
In the game it was nicknamed “Defender Killer”. This is the most accurate description of its capabilities.
Skoda T 50
It is a maneuverable model but with a low health reserve. The developers emphasized power. It comes equipped with a 105 mm cannon and has quick turret rotation. The barrel is shortened, and shots at long distances are delivered with a large spread. The armor is medium; the rear part of the tracks is covered.
Advantages:
- high mobility;
- firepower, easy to deal with, MT.
Weaknesses:
- sheet armor covers only partially;
- the crew is poorly protected.
The T50 is well balanced, but requires game experience.
TVP T 50/51
The Czech Republic’s most maneuverable medium armored vehicle has a 100 mm cannon with fast reload times. The automatic cannon allows one crew member to use the auxiliary machine gun. The turret is protected, and the tracks are covered with plates of thickened armor on the sides.
Strengths:
- the most mobile of the midline;
- fast reloading of the main gun.
Cons:
- complex and lengthy to upgrade;
- poor camouflage.
Suitable only for experienced gamers. It is impossible to get it quickly without a donation.
Line of Heavy Tanks
The HT is a mainstay for any experienced player. In Czech tanks, the developers emphasize colossal firepower. Their main disadvantage is that you must spend a lot of time upgrade. And the arsenal of additional and alpha weapons is much smaller than in the middle line.
Vz. 44-1
The concept of the technique, which was not used in real life, remained only on the drawings. The simplest in terms of equipment is HT Czechoslovakia in World of Tanks. The choice uses guns 88, 100, and 105 mm. Maneuverability is low; good armor is only in the turret and along the track line. The crew is mediocrely protected.
Advantages:
- you can choose the caliber of the primary weapon;
- powerful fire from automatic machine guns.
Disadvantages:
- low mobility;
- poor accuracy and precision of fire.
This tank is suitable for training. In real battles in the game they are destroyed in the first minutes.
TNH 105/1000
Compact heavy armored vehicle. But uses 105 mm caliber shells, including shaped charge. Emphasis is placed on firepower, and armor is below average. Although the dimensions are small, the armored vehicle has a 1450 horsepower engine. This makes the TNH the most maneuverable among large-sized units.
Pros:
- maneuverable turret rotation;
- effective against airborne targets, the barrel rises upwards.
Weaknesses:
- only one slot for additional armament;
- the basic cannon is slow to reload.
Suitable for experienced players who emphasize dynamics.
TNH T Vz. 51
The first Czech vehicle capable of using a 122 mm cannon, designed as a fully armored artillery unit on a tracked chassis. A direct hit with a shaped charge with an armor-piercing head blows away even the most protected vehicles in the game. The weak point is low maneuverability and slow turret rotation.
Advantages:
- 122mm cannon can be used with any type of ammunition;
- as many as four seats for additional automatic weapons.
Disadvantages:
- very slow reloading of the main armament;
- guidance takes 50% more time than in other heavy armored personnel carriers.
If you upgrade the protection by installing a thickened armor plate on the gun and on the crew location, you get one of the most powerful armored vehicles in the game.
Vz. 55
The best Czechoslovak heavy transporter in WoT. It is a modification of the 51, in which the chassis was redesigned, making hydraulic suspension with electric drive. Promptly aimed at the target, turret rotation takes less than 4.5 seconds; such indicators are more common in light and medium vehicles. The standard cannon supports an increased deflection angle; magazine reloading is only 2.5 seconds. In skilled hands, this is the deadliest weapon in the game.
Advantages:
- rapid aiming and equally rapid reloading;
- good stealth.
Flaws:
- a small arsenal of auxiliary weapons;
- poor protection of the commander’s cupola.
Initially, the model was available only for purchase.
Tank Destroyers Line
This is a class of artillery units on a wheeled or tracked chassis. They have more powerful armaments than other vehicles but only fire when stopped. They are effective against both ground and air targets. They are predominantly used to support infantry and light vehicles.
ShPTK-TVP 100
Refers to vehicles of the 8th rank. The main gun penetrates armor plates up to 250 mm. When using shaped charge shells – up to 330 mm. The targeting time is 1.9 seconds—accuracy indicators in the neighborhood of 0.4. The speed of movement is up to 55 kilometers per hour. According to the characteristics – this is a mobile, maneuverable unit with a powerful primary weapon. However, the vehicle’s structure is primarily protected by 150 mm and 200 mm armor plates.
Advantages:
- powerful armament with almost instant reloading;
- good camouflage parameters.
Weaknesses:
- tiny space for the crew;
- no undercarriage protection, any hit by even a simple projectile disables the model.
It is a specific vehicle, but has a high rate of fire with heavy projectiles.
What Premium Tank to Buy in 2024
More than 20 Czechoslovakian armored vehicles are represented in the game in total. Both real machines and prototypes remained in the drawings. According to gamers, using engines and transmission from Skoda is the best technique. This combination provides good maneuverability, the use of hydraulics when aiming at the target, and moderate survivability. But in WoT, premium vehicles are available, which can be purchased for donation. It has excellent armor plates, and more experience is awarded for each battle.
Light Tank – Pzw.39
Compact, with a 24mm cannon. Effective against infantry, you can quickly destroy additional modules and the enemy’s arsenal in a fight with vehicles. Excellent camouflage; the crew consists of only three people. Stability is low, but it gets protection from most armor-piercing shells after the upgrade.
Pros:
- maneuverability is one of the best when directly compared to light premium tanks of other factions;
- fast reloading;
- large arsenal.
Drawbacks:
- does not utilize powerful cannons;
- weak lining of the commander’s cupola.
In terms of dimensions corresponds to armored personnel carriers. But due to the huge stock of weapons – dangerous even for well armored vehicles, can blow up the chassis in seconds.
Medium Tank – Skoda T 27
A vehicle with powerful guns and reinforced armor plates. The crew and the entire arsenal are placed in the front and lower. In the rear are the engine and additional modules. Destroying even by a shaped-charge projectile will not be possible if there is one. The chassis armor at the rear is reinforced compared to the T17, the prototype for the T27.
Advantages:
- enormous damage per second;
- high rate of guidance of the primary weapon;
- The engine and crew plates are excellently durable.
Cons:
- Magazine reloading time takes a long time;
- It does not use 122 mm caliber armament, so it is ineffective against powerful transporters.
If you compare with other mid-line vehicles, the characteristics of the T 27 are better. But it is useless against high class transporters.
Heavy Tank – Skoda T 45
The armored vehicle features electromechanical suspension, which accelerates the turn of the cannon and allows you to aim. This will enable you to attack in motion at high speed. It uses 100 mm armament, increased arsenal reserve, and automatic reloading of the main gun. It easily copes with armored vehicles of any faction.
Advantages:
- excellent turret, crew, and chassis protection;
- aiming and reloading are very fast.
Weaknesses:
- a small assortment of optional modules for upgrades;
- mediocre camouflage.
One of the best units of Czechoslovakia.
Conclusion: 3 Best Czech Tanks in World of Tanks
If we do not take into account the premium class units, the best-armored tanks of the Czech Republic, according to players, are:
- LT vz. 38. The leader in the light class due to the balance of maneuverability and firepower.
- TVP T 50/51. Emphasis on gun power and good accuracy for long-range shots.
- Vz. 55. Utilizes the most advanced armament and technically advanced chassis.
Buying this technique for further upgrade is a priority option. For a quick gain of experience, you can take a temporary premium or battle pass.
Overall, Czechoslovakian tanks in World of Tanks are more effective than Soviet tanks but fall slightly short compared to American tanks. However, a more extensive arsenal and the ability to shoot HEAT shells make them dangerous opponents on the battlefield. The heavy models of this faction are the most valued.
