- Prominence. Many maps have overused corners of buildings, bushes, and rocks. Opponents will anticipate your location and make a preemptive strike that could be fatal. Choose less obvious positions;
- Conspicuity. It would be best to consider how easy it is to spot your equipment in a busy location. If it is easy to spot, the enemy will quickly unmask and strike;
- Paths of retreat. You’ll have to move quickly away from the point if spotted. You should be able to do this without taking a lot of damage. Also, staying in one place for the whole match is pointless, so you should be able to change positions.

- Topography. A unique game mode aimed at exploring the terrain. In safe conditions, you will explore the whole battlefield, which will help you find the best places to spot and shoot. For passing topography, awards are given;
- Community and mods. Players regularly share screenshots of new, unobvious, but advantageous positions they have found. Some utilities will highlight the best places on the map for the type of equipment.

Strategies by Technique Type
The best place differs depending on the type of equipment you play on. The game objective of the selected tank class determines it. Let’s break down the basis of the strategies:
- Light Tanks. Must light up enemy vehicles and then support allies with fire. Thanks to the speed, you must overcome most of the map to notice a lot of enemies. And then get back quickly so you don’t get killed;
- Medium Tanks. It should move in different directions, occupying bushes, rocks, and corners of buildings. There is no need to occupy areas that are being shot at. Position yourself behind heavy equipment;
- Heavy Tanks. Due to the severe armor, they go in frontal attack, taking positions right next to the main front line. Due to their low speed, it is not recommended to try to reach distant points;
- Tank Destroyers. They are located behind other vehicles but in places with a view of open space. Camouflage in the form of bushes or ruins will prolong the life of the tank;
- SPGS. It should get maximum visibility. On open maps, bushes near the base are occupied. Sometimes, you must get to a hill far from the front line. On urban battlefields, seek cover among open spaces.
