The quest “Colonel Vlasov” in Stalcraft offers two endings. You can destroy Vlasov in direct combat or, knowing part of the history of his family, drive him to suicide. We will analyze both ways.
Vlasov is a military man, a supporter of the organization “Sanitarians” (stalkers who united to destroy the “Blessed”), helping them with material and human resources. For this reason, we will be asked to eliminate him. This guide describes how to kill Vlasov in two ways – in a firefight and by forcing him to commit suicide.

But if you’re in the mood for something different, we also have War Thunder codes.
How to Kill Vlasov Yourself
First, you need to complete the chain of missions leading up to this encounter. The quest line goes through missions related to the military and their conflict with the Blessed.
A little earlier, players joined one of the factions (Freedom / Duty) at Shaman’s request and completed an assignment from their leader to search for the missing group. For this, they were rewarded with an M1A assault rifle and gained their support in the military battle.
The current stage of the story is the assault on the base where Vlasov is hiding. The quest is given by Shaman, talking about a powerful explosion in the Dead City, initiated by our group – that’s where we need to go.
Battle Stage
The Colonel is hiding in an abandoned school in Dead City, which is full of his underlings. Infiltrate the building and move inside, eliminating his assistants one by one. It will take a little time.
Then we enter Vlasov’s office; the cut-scene is activated: since this is the first variant of the passage, we have no variations of answers in the dialog box, which means that everything will end only with an armed confrontation.
Toward the end of the dialog, a guard bursts into the room and tries to shoot us but misses, and Vlasov himself runs away in an unknown direction. The second stage of the mission begins – to finish off the colonel.
A direct massacre with him is a difficult path that requires:
- Weapons – buy a powerful assault/sniper rifle with great damage beforehand;
- Equipment – you will need good body armor, lots of grenades, and first aid kits.
Battle Tactics Tips:
- First of all destroy the underhanded, they protect the boss. It is better not to meet them face to face, provoke them to aggression, and run away to a safe position and shoot from there. Or start firing at NPCs with a rifle with a sniper scope from afar before they discover you;
- Vlasov is wearing armored protection and is armed with a PKP Pecheneg – so don’t stand in one place, but hide behind crates and shoot from around corners;
- Since he has a machine gun, don’t try to shoot him, but wait until he reloads and attacks.
Immediately after his death, the mission will be completed and you will have to return to the Shaman. As a reward, he will give you Kozhemyaka’s Beretta.
How to Drive Vlasov to Suicide – Alternative Ending
This method involves gathering information and using Vlasov’s weaknesses. For this variant, you must refuse to torture the recruit nicknamed Lapshin at the end of the first part of the plot.
If you have complied with this condition:
- Find Lapshin (standing in the Bar next to Shaman on the second floor), talk to him, and take the task “Lapshin’s Ties” to search for two officers’ caches;
- After completing the task, return to the new recruit and enter the dialog: he will give Kuntz’s diary with the password and the second quest “Kuntz’s Computer”.
Next, go to Storm the school with Vlasov and find a laptop in one of the rooms where you can interact.
To hack the device, enter the following sequence of answers:
- [Attempt to answer]
- [Ensign Velichko]
- [2012]
- [Find correspondence]
- [Continue reading]
After examining the files, it turns out that Vlasov started a war with the Blessed because of his grandson Ilya’s disappearance from the Zone. Go to his office.
When you get to Vlasov himself, start a conversation and choose the following lines:
- [To the psycho who decided to…]
- [This is all about your grandson, isn’t it? Your grandson disappeared in the Zone, and you’re blaming the Blessed for it?]
- [Let me guess – one day, he just disappears for no reason, and then he’s seen in the Zone?]
- [Your grandson turned out to be a Blessed. But what about the other Blessed?]
- [Whatever Morg told you, he lied. Your grandson turned out to be blessed and succumbed to the Call like so many others. It was the same with me.]
- [Your grandson is a Blessed One, one of the ones the Sanitarians are after. You’re helping people who would gladly be his executioners.]
After the last sentence, Vlasov self-destructs with a pistol shot, saving you from having to fight him.
Conclusion
Both variants of passage have their own difficulties. The direct fight requires well-prepared equipment and patience, while the alternative dialog requires mercy when completing the previous quest. If you want to quickly deal with Vlasov without getting your hands dirty, choose the second approach.
