The war between two factions and the four factions that belong to them is the cornerstone of Stalcraft and drives the plot forward. The factions differ in terms of lore, equipment, and quests.
Don't forget to redeem Stalcraft promo codes to get bonuses in the game.
But if you’re in the mood for something different, we also have War Thunder codes.
How Many Subfactions there are in Stalcraft
Please note: Duty and Freedom have been renamed – they are now Frontier and Rise respectively.
There are only four factions:
- Rise is the first of the two Stalker factions. It is ideologically opposed to Frontier. Rise believes that the Zone does not have a master. Stalkers from this faction have inherent anarchic views on what is happening in the Zone and the world as a whole.
- Frontier – the second of two groups of Stalkers. It is an association of experienced fighters and former military. Their goal is to destroy the contagion of the Zone and all mutants. The leader of the faction is Davydov. Based on what in-game characters say, Frontier has a large “turnover” of fighters. They fight mutants, Rise, and Bandits of all stripes every day. They suffer catastrophic losses and are in a sad and grim state – at least from a lore standpoint.
- The Covenant is the first faction of Bandits. Fanatics and brutalizers. They believe that God deliberately struck the Earth, after which the Zone was formed. They treat it as a sanctuary, an oasis, and a temple of salvation; they do not harm it as a place for profit do not perceive. They are aggressive towards all those who are kept in the Zone by money and not by faith.
- Mercenaries are fighters for a reward, not for an idea. Professionals of their trade often operate outside the framework of morality and laws. However, this is only a first glance, and to tell something more is a serious spoiler.
As for the event factions, Whisper is available in the “Dead Man’s Marathon” mode during the Black Market. The player is automatically determined into it by the system. The situation is similar to that of the Converted faction – the faction was accessed in the same “Dead Man’s Marathon” but only on Halloween Eve 2023.
Joining Subfactions
Previously, to join, you had to get a level 7 reputation. That is, actively perform side quests or tasks of the main storyline. In addition, you had to perform quite specific missions to join a faction.
And everything would be fine if they were not so boring. In this opinion, the community is almost unanimous. Also, quests artificially stretched the developers: You had to get to the bases of factions independently without saving points.
Now, you can join a faction immediately after passing the main story. Recruiters appear in the passages as soon as the player decides what to do with the Blue Ball.
The task of joining is given after a conversation with Condor in the bar. You won’t be able to miss it – the notification comes in the questlog. There are also details of the factions that the player can join.
Further, it is necessary to visit the recruiters. They are sitting in the bar “Pervomaysky”.
The recruiter of Mercenaries is Gray:
Covenant Recruiter – Feather:
Rise Recruiter – Sozonka:
Frontier recruiter – Rakita:
While talking to the recruiter, the player goes through a mini-game where you have to choose the correct answer choices. There is no fear of making a mistake. Attempts are not limited.
How to Leave a Subfaction in Stalcraft
You do not have to pay to exit and enter back. However, if a player wants to join an opposing (warring) faction – for example, to switch from Rise to Frontier – he must pay compensation.
The recruiter sets the fine amount.
What is the Best Group to Join in Stalcraft?
It depends on faction, play style, and desire (or unwillingness) to communicate with other players. It even depends on the server.
Let’s start in order.
All factions have the same equipment in Barter branches, but each faction also has 2-3 special sets of armor. Among other things, all factions have an extra heavy battle suit with a speed debuff, which is more useful for PvP than PvE. This suit has the same characteristics for all of them. The only difference is the appearance.
As for the rest, Rise, for example, has the Hound Exosuit. It doesn’t protect from bullets, but it gives a 12% speed bonus.
Frontier has a lighter suit that is similar to the Mule Exoskeleton in concept but has improved characteristics.
Covenant fighters get the Peresvet jumpsuit with good resistance to bullets but mediocre protection from the elements.
Mercenaries wear the “Punisher” armored suit, similar to the “Hound” exosuit. It has a little more bullet protection but only a 6% bonus to speed.
All other pieces of equipment are the same.
Now for the meth. It changes all the time. That’s the thing about factions. At some point, the Covenant is stronger, and at some point, the Mercenaries are stronger. It is impossible to predict; new players come every day, and many old (and strong) players leave the game.
For a newcomer, it’s better not to bother and just choose the one that seems the most interesting in terms of lore, visuals, or characters. If you regret the decision, the faction can be changed.
Conclusion
The choice of faction depends entirely on personal preferences. In the guide, we tried to highlight the important points so that the player would not have to pay a penalty, going from one to another, because in the past, we did not like it.
