How to Get Firebrand’s or Hystrix’s RPD in Stalcraft
In the game, to get the RPGs “Firebrand” and “Hystrix,” you need to pass a special quest called “Souls of the Dead.” This quest is related to the story of the captain and the fulfillment of certain tasks. The trial, which opens access to these weapons, begins after interacting with NPCs. The player will have to go through several stages: searching and completing missions in various locations and battles with characters. It is also possible to get ammunition through barter.
The quest can pass both stalkers and bandits. The central locations are the forest, swam and park, and junkyard.
Full description of this quest read in our separate article.
Choice of Firebrand’s or Hystrix’s RPD
RPDs are variants of rare handguns with unique characteristics that are designed for different play styles:
- The Hystrix RPD is a powerful firearm designed to engage a target at medium range. It is well suited for PvP battles, as its firepower and rapid fire rate allow you to keep your opponents at gunpoint. Its main features are high accuracy and high damage, making it ideal for fighting enemies in medium and close combat.
- The Firebrand RPD is a machine gun that is more suitable for PvE (battles with monsters) and situations that require quick reactions as well as maneuverability. The weapon is lightweight and mobile, making it easy to move around during fights and change positions. “Firebrand” will be helpful to the player when you need to clean up the location when attacking monsters.
To get the RPD, players need to overcome several quests, differing in degree of difficulty. The interaction begins with a dialog in the bar with the Captaintain. He tells a story that contains clues to the challenge. While traversing the forest and swamps, your character meets a stalker, “Firebrand,” from a conversation with whom he learns about a tunnel in the mire where the three – Firebrand, Hystrix, and Splinter – were, but as a result of psi radiation Hystrix killed Splinter. Now, Firebrand wants to find out if this is true.
After completing the “Souls of the Dead” quest, a final challenge called “The Case: The Finale” opens up. This is where the weapon selection takes place: if one tells the truth to Firebrand about Splinter being killed by Hystrix, the player gets his machine gun. If you lie that Splinter didn’t exist, Hystrix gets his gun.
Which RPD is Better
Both weapons belong to the same “Stalker” level. Indicators such as damage, distance, rate of fire, reloading, scatter, recoil, and aiming are identical. There is a slight difference in weight, hip spread, horizontal recoil, and reach.
In general, both machine guns differ in sight, grip, stock, and flame thrower. The Firebrand has a different grip and nozzle, no LCU, and no tactical buttstock. The characteristics of the Hystrix modules look a bit better, but there is no clear advantage for any machine gun: the choice depends on each player’s individual preferences.
Characteristics of the Firebrand RPD:
- Basic Set Weapon.
- Design with simple dodgers.
- The firing mode is single/automatic.
- Improved recoil and spread when lying down.
- Modification is not possible.
Features of the Hystrix Machine Gun:
- It’s the main Arsenal slot.
- Firing mode – automatic.
- High recoil.
- Improved dodgers.
