How to Pass the Quest “Another Nightmare” in Stalcraft 2025

“Another Nightmare” is one of the longest and most challenging quests in Stalcraft. In this sense, the quest fully lives up to its name because its completion turns out to be an absolute nightmare for many players.

Beginning of the Quest

Looking for the entry point to the quest is not necessary because the Nightmare finds us himself. After saying goodbye to the Morgue at the base of the Sanitarians and completing the quest “The Great Escape”, the player flies away by helicopter. But you can’t escape fate: the aircraft is struck by lightning.

When we wake up after the crash, we find ourselves in the middle of the forest, without weapons and with an empty inventory.

The pilot is dead, and the helicopter is destroyed. There is no point in searching the wreckage: there is nothing there. Run through the forest in any direction until the game brings us back. From that moment, the Nightmare begins.

After moving, run straight ahead without changing the direction of the camera.

Jump into the catacombs through the breaks in the ground. Having descended to the bottom, we find ourselves in front of a fork. Here, it would be best if you ran to the right; there is nothing but empty tunnels on the left, which ends in a dead end.

The first checkpoint will be before the fork, which, fortunately, is generously scattered throughout the level. In addition to their direct purpose of saving progress, checkpoints can be used as hints because if a checkpoint is counted, it means that we are doing everything correctly.

At the next fork, we take a left and run to a low crawlway.

Crawl through the crawlway, and you’ll find yourself in a straight corridor with no forks. We’ll run along this corridor until we get to the room with the generator.

After getting out of the hallucination, we get into the stealth action reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid.

We need to sneak unnoticed through the location, which orderlies patrol. It’s easier than it seems because the patrolmen see a not-very-big cone in front of them and react to sound in a tiny radius. The scheme of actions is the same for the whole level: follow the patrolman to the final point of his route and hide. We wait for the guard to pass by the character in the opposite direction and calmly run on.

It will be difficult to get lost here because the level is almost a corridor. There are two turns here. When you get to the bridge, do not go under it, but go up and cross the bridge.

The second fork is after the bridge. Turn right, ignoring the wide road ahead.

We turned on the switch, but the generator didn’t work. You’ll have to fix it in the parallel dimension. Run further along the left side to the funnel. This time, the funnel does not take us out of the hallucination but plunges us into it.

How to Get Past the Second Nightmare

On the level, there are platforms with ladders that the dogs can not climb. The whole gameplay consists of running between platforms. To avoid taking damage while running, you aggro the dogs on a platform and take them to the opposite side of the next platform. It helps that the creatures are dumb and try to stay close to the player. This makes it easy to run between platforms without taking damage.

The way on the platforms is one. Reach the last platform, jump from it to the wall, and climb up it, leaving the hounds behind.

After the climb, turn right to the generator hanging on the platform.

Interact with the generator, finish the repair quest, and go back. After leaving the room with the generator, turn right and see a funnel in front of you.

Second Stealth Level with the Orderlies

We get out of the hallucination and find ourselves in the place where we entered it. Run back to the generator in the real world. This time, the switch turns on the generator, energizing the lift bridge, which lowers, allowing us to pass on.

Cross the bridge and run straight up to a tall metal tower surrounded by a barbed wire fence.

Go around the tower on the right, cross the bridge, and you will find yourself in a location with medic patrols.

Here, the game indulges us with a marker indicating the mission’s goal. Run to the yellow diamond, habitually dodging the patrols. Hide behind trees, houses, and in the grass.

We run inside, climb the stairs to the second floor and jump down, finding ourselves in the forest, on the other side of the fence.

A forest path with no branches leads us to another funnel, which takes us to a hallucination.

The Third Hallucination

In the hallucination, we reach the end of the forest path and reach the location with rats. One rat is not dangerous and can be easily killed by hand in four hits. However, there are dozens of rats in the location, and you can’t kill all of them with your hands.

Run away from the crowd of rats and run forward along the corridor until we reach a place with a slanted floor, at the end of which is an anomaly. The algorithm is as follows: gather the crowd of rats and run to the ledge above the anomaly. Jump down, jumping over the anomaly, and the rats fall into the funnel, which instantly kills them. After a couple of such passes, there are no rodents left on the location.

Calmly go further along the corridor level until we come to a burnt house.

Go inside and use the ladders to climb up to the roof. On the roof, cross the thin plank to the other side.

On the other side, run to the water tower and climb up. Jump to the other side into the bloody lake. The character will not take damage from the fall.

We follow the familiar pattern of running between the platforms. There is no way to get lost because there are no branches on the level. We go forward until we come to a passage in the wall.

Parkour

A game of “the floor is lava” begins. There is only one ladder to the platforms, and by falling to the ground, the player will be instantly killed by the hounds. Good thing, if you know the way, you will have to park a little.
