What are the PDAs in Stalcraft?
PDAs are needed to farm items. First, you need to find them, and then you need to hack them. This way, you will be able to see the location of valuable stashes and caches. Many PDAs are given during the quests. One of them is “Echoes of the Past”. This is an unpopular task, which is hard to find, but for the passage of which are given good rewards.
Note that although the task is available to all, but the passage varies depending on the faction. To be more precise, the location of the points changes.
Finding Beard’s PDA (Bandits)
The quest starts with the player searching for a backpack hidden under a tree. When he finds it, he realizes that there is something inside. His gut was not wrong: inside was a broken PDA with valuable information.

Hacking Beard’s PDA
The found PDA, however, is useless for now. It needs to be repaired and decrypted to earn some profit. That’s why the player first has to go to the nearest hub and find an NPC providing repair services. He will examine the find, carry out the necessary manipulation, and return a serviceable device.
But now it has to be hacked. This is already a task for the player.
Hacking is made in the form of a mini-game with a dialog menu in which you must choose the correct sequence of actions. Specifically, this quest is as follows:

Beard’s Stash on the Swamp in Stalcraft
After successfully hacking the PDA on the map, a new marker with the name “Legend’s Stash” will appear. Location: Swamps. This stash is the sought-after cache. The way to it lies through dense thickets of reeds. The right place is easier to find if you are lying down. Location of the long-awaited loot:
Quest Reward – PP-2000 Stalcraft Anchor
After opening the stash, the player will receive:
- 500 repair parts;
- 7500 rubles;
- Two ammo pouches;
- Two bottles of vodka;
- One pouch with first aid kits;
- Two plates of level 1.
But the best part is the PP-2000 Anchor. It is a powerful weapon in the early stages, almost ideal for close combat.
The only disadvantage of the gun is its small magazine capacity: 20 rounds. Later, it can be bartered up to 40 rounds. In any case, the disadvantage is compensated by the x1.25 multiplier of damage to the head. However, when firing at the body, the weapon will definitely disappoint: damage to the limbs has a multiplier of x0.5.
The PP uses 9mm ammo, which is standard, armor-piercing, expansive, and incendiary. It goes in the primary slot and is fully automatic. It is painted in standard colors. The recoil is easily controlled, and there is a collimator sight – it is convenient. Animations are also lovely, even if it is a subjective point.
Anchor is really good in the initial stages, but quickly loses relevance, and soon just goes into the player’s stash. The problem is not even in the Anchor itself, but in the irrelevance of submachine guns in the current meta: low range and small caliber simply do not fit into the overall gameplay design and balance.
Conclusion
The quest is small but interesting. It gives the opportunity to get a good drop, which will come in handy in the early stages of the game—before the Bar. The reward for both factions is the same.
