Artifacts offer unique properties. They can increase running speed, max health, or increase resistance to different types of damage. But they also almost always come with severe penalties in the form of radiation damage or lowered stats.

Where to Find Artifacts
Traveling through the world of Stalcraft, the player can encounter large areas of anomalies. Artifacts appear in them, but to do this, you need to get to a particular area and maneuver between dangerous areas.
When Do Artifacts Appear
At intervals of 3-6 hours, the Zone is covered by the Emission — a powerful wave of energy sweeps across the territory, after which new artifacts are found in the anomalous fields about a couple of minutes later. Experienced stalkers try to seek shelter closer to the desired anomaly, so they have time to clean it before the arrival of competitors.
What are the Artifacts in Stalcraft
Depending on the type of anomaly-parent, different artifacts will spawn in it. There are the following types:
Electrophysical
Appear in the anomalies Elektra, Stagnation, Space Bubble and Mirror. All electrophysical artifacts increase movement speed.
Thermal
Dropped from the anomalies Lighter, Circus and Steam. Thermal artifacts give temperature protection and defensive characteristics.
Gravitational
Search in the Carousel, Trampoline and Funnel anomalies. Most gravity artifacts increase the weight carried.
Biochemical
Found in the anomalies Kisel, Witch’s Jelly, and Stinging Fluff. Biochemical artifacts always give stamina or health regeneration.
Artifacts have a quality indicator, which determines the value of their properties, as well as the sale price:
- ordinary – (0%-100%), the most common, can be found in swamps and practically all other locations;
- unusual – (100%-110%), in the anomalies of the dump;
- special – (110%-120%), pulled from the Rostok factory;
- rare – (120%-130%), found in army warehouses;
- exceptional – (130%-140%), these are found near Janov and in the Red Forest;
- legendary – (140%-150%), can be found at Zaton;
- unique – (175%) cannot be found yet.
There are quest and event artifacts. The first ones can be given to NPCs and have no properties. The latter can be found only during specific events and can be stronger than most other artifacts.
Where and How to Find Artifacts in Stalcraft
First of all, you need good armor. “Saturn”, “Peresvet”, “Longevity” are suitable. Searching for artifacts is much faster with a detector, so you’ll have to cash in on “Buryat”.
Artifacts are minor, and you can notice them with your eyes only at a close distance. To make the search easier, the game has narrow and wide-range detectors. They work only together and indicate the location of artifacts within a radius of 100-250 meters.
The search radius depends on the quality of the detector. At the beginning of the game, stalkers get the simplest detectors with a radius of 100 meters, and steeper models become available as you progress through the story and quests.
The central locations for searches are anomalies and Stagnation. The pictures highlight the most expensive places, the Labyrinth and the Quiet Flood.
In the case of the labyrinth, the highest concentration of Stagnation is in one of the locations.
You can earn it in the Forge-11 and Reflection, but you will often have to deal with competitors there.
Artifact Assemblies
The game’s backpacks and containers have special compartments for carrying artifacts. Experienced players often purchase artifacts of standard quality to disassemble and charge their assemblies.
An assemblage is a set of several artifacts. They are selected so as to increase some of the character’s characteristics and offset negative properties.
Each artifact has potential development available, which is more familiar to all gamers, sharpening by +1, +5, etc.
To sharpen, you need to find a scientist at any base (marked on the mini cart with a magnifying glass icon) and start a dialog with him. The upgrade requires abnormal energy obtained by disassembling unwanted artifacts and a catalyst acquired through bartering abnormal dust or glowing sugar.

- put the artifact, catalyst, and energy in unique slots at the scientist’s place;
- watch the results.
If the reaction is successful, the artifact’s potential will increase by 1. Every 5 levels of potential increases one of the artifact’s properties or adds a new one.
Basic speed build for KZS-5:
- Sea Hedgehog;
- 2 Helium;
- Vortex;
- Spiral.
The spiral is needed to drain radiation. Worth remembering, the character has a built-in rejection of any contamination equal to:
- 0.5 radiation;
- 0.5 biological contamination;
- 0.5 temperature damage;
- 1.5 psychic damage;
- 1 cold.
Beginners should pay attention to Atom, Drop (from radiation), Film, Snail (from biological damage), Void, Crystal (from thermal damage), Mirror, Eye of the Storm (from psychic damage).
